Packing FAQs

Is a helmet required?+
General Sam's rules require following all manufacturer guidelines and safety instructions. A DOT-approved helmet is strongly recommended for all riders. Check with the park for specific safety gear requirements for your vehicle type.
Do I need recovery gear?+
If you plan to ride mud pits, bounty holes, or advanced trails, recovery gear is strongly recommended — tow straps, D-ring shackles, a winch, and a tire repair kit can save your weekend.
Can I buy food at the park?+
Food trucks and vendors are often on-site during event weekends, but availability varies. For regular weekends, bring your own food and drinks.
What should I wear for mud riding?+
Wear riding gear you don't mind getting muddy — long sleeves, pants, boots, and goggles. Bring a dry change of clothes and towels for after.
Do I need to bring my own firewood?+
Check with the park on firewood policies before your visit. Campfires are allowed in designated areas with fire rings.
